Family Fun Day at the Bronx Zoo Boo at the Zoo!

I know I wrote about the Boo at the Zoo activities at the Bronx Zoo before – if you missed it you can read the post here – But I’m writing about it again because I went this past weekend. It was a lot of fun and I’m not just saying this because of the ambassador program. In fact, this post isn’t even sponsored. I just wanted to share our experience from attending the event. Hubs and I decided to take lil man so he could wear his halloween costume and because I wanted to take him to the Bronx Zoo again before winter kicked in. We went over the…

Sponsored: New York Aquarium Ascarium: A Pirate Adventure

Using my NY Wildlife Ambassador Program family pass this summer I went to the NY Aquarium on a play date with another friend of mine. Our boys loved all the animals especially the sharks. It’s amazing what the kids learn just watching the animals swim around. I wanted to go back to the Aquarium before the end of summer, but unfortunately haven’t been able to. Through our Ambassador program last week I was told there’s a new theme at the New York Aquarium for the Halloween season. It’s called the Ascarium: A Pirate Adventure.  I’m so excited to hear about this program because Lil Man LOVES pirates. So I think we…

5 Tools that Make Teaching Your Toddler the Alphabet Fun

They say young children develop one skill at a time. My lil man is a bit behind on speaking full sentences. When I compare him to friend’s who were born the same year, I’ve noticed many of them are all speaking full sentences. He’s now 26 months and just started stringing words together in English. Our pediatrician assured us early on it’s because he’s been able to speak sentences in Chinese and has learned sign language as well so she says it’s because he’s multi-lingual. While speech wasn’t his first development unlike this friends, lil man developed his motor skills very early on. For example, he was able to kick and hit…

Sponsored: New York Aquarium Opens New Exhibit A-MAZE-ING Water

Did you know the New York Aquarium has a new exhibit called A-MAZE-ING Water? As an Ambassador for the Wildlife Conservation Society, I was given information about this a few weeks ago. I even attended the kick-off event where they had displays about the NY water, a maze for the kids and other activities. A-MAZE-ING Water exhibit is open to the public through September 9, 2012 and features elements of the New York Seascape, the aquarium’s conservation program that works to preserve local NY waters. As part of the program, they have Water’s Extreme Journey where visitors will travel through a 1,500-square-foot maze, learning about the environmental threats that plague our waterways along…

Sponsored: Bronx Zoo Summer 2012 LEGO® WILDLIFE FOREST Exhibit & Building Zone

You know, I love the Bronx Zoo. But what can make it even better? LEGO!!! So, when I was notified by my Bronx Zoo contact as part of the Ambassador Program about this Summer LEGO program I was so excited! I can’t wait to go with lil man. From July 3 – September 3, 2012, you can journey to the Bronx Zoo Wild Forest to check out giant LEGO sculptures of tigers, flamingos, gorillas, and other exotic wildlife, then visit their real-life counterparts around the zoo. Build your own LEGO sculptures at our construction zone, and enjoy Wildlife Theater performances and the hit musical puppet show, Avenue Zoo. The entrance to…

    Funtime Junction

A few weeks ago, I took lil man to Funtime Junction. We had purchased tickets from living social for a discount entry tickets. It was smaller than I expected. Definitely smaller than the new Paramus Chuck E. Cheese. I’m not sure I’d go there regularly simply because Chuck E. Cheese is so close by for us. But the other reason I wouldn’t go often is because of the entry fee. You pay the entry fee plus then you need to buy tokens to play games. They have an area where you can use tokens to buy time to shoot “balls” at each other. It’s fun, but again, it costs money. There’s…

Family Fun at the 9th Annual North Jersey D.A.R.E. Carnival

It’s been another week of medical visits for me towing lil man along including today. I feel bad having to take him along, but obviously leaving him home alone isn’t an option. To make up for it, my hubs came home early from work yesterday, took lil man and I out to eat and headed to the Carnival. It was a great way to end the day and start off the weekend. The Carnival we went to is the 9th Annual North Jersey D.A.R.E. Carnival held at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ. Basically, bring your family for a fun time at an old-fashioned carnival and help your…
