    Head injuries

I was watching Lil man while he was  holding onto the sofa while standing and moving along the edge. Seeing he was fine, playing with his toys and holding onto the sofa, I looked back at my computer screen and continued working. Then, I heard a big bang and then… “wehhhhhh”. I immediately turned around and saw him on the floor. He’d slipped and somehow managed to fall sideways hitting his head on the hardwood floor. Of course, I went to him, lifted him up and looked at him. He looked me in the eyes, gave me that downward frowning lip and screamed again. I knew he was hurting as…

Lady Bloggers Society Writing Challenge: TGI Friday!

In an effort to keep myself blogging at each of my blogs I went searching for blogging challenges and found a few. This one is The Lady Bloggers Society‘s writing challenge. Today’s writing assignment is T-G-I-F – Why this week has been a challenge…so here goes. As I mentioned earlier, I have a few blogs. Pui Pui Photography (for my Photography business), Yippy Momma, and a Blogger one where I write poetry or anything else that comes to mind. Why so many blogs? I’m starting to wondering myself. I initially thought it would be best to keep things separate. Especially Yippy Momma and my Photography Blog because my Photography blog…

    Happy New Year!!!!!!

Happy New Year? It’s already February! Yes. You’re right. It is. But, today is Chinese New Year. Today, begins the Year 4709 on our calendar and it is the Year of the Hare/Rabbit in our Chinese Zodiac. What do you mean it’s the Year 4709? Yep… our calendar began many many moons ago. I can’t even begin to explain it all to you. I’m not even really entirely sure I understand it all, but WebExhibits gives a pretty good explanation about the Chinese Calendar. You can take a look at their information there. After you read it, you can come here and explain it all in layman’s terms – I’d…

    Give away your heart

If there’s anything I’m very passionate about besides my family and friends, it’s definitely volunteer work and helping others. So, I wanted to share this fundraiser that my friend, Stacey, is doing. This Valentine’s Day she’s doing something special to kick off her new year by giving back. She’s selling “Heart of Snow” postcards with a photo by her. All proceeds will be donated to Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City. Stacey has two reasons close to her heart to do this fundraiser… the 1st is that her late father, Norman, went to Sloan when he was being treated for cancer 17 years ago and more recently, her mothers…

Product Review: Eating out with baby

A group of my friends and I decided to go out for dinner tonight for our Holiday dinner because we didn’t get a chance to do it during the holiday season. We ended up at Magiano’s. It was pretty busy, but fortunately we made a reservation and got a table for 14! Yes, that’s right – 14. That’s eight adults and six kiddos. Two families with two kiddos and two families with one kiddo. All of our children are under the age of five. So, needless to say lots of high chairs, car seat slings, toys to occupy the kids during dinner and everything else we need to tote around…

Baby accessories and more for the “Chic Mama”

I recently started my twitter account for Yippy Momma and connected with Chic Mama. If you haven’t seen her Chic Mama site yet, you totally should. She has such cute accessories for moms. The carryalls and the diaper clutch are so CUTE! And you’ll notice she has beautiful diaper cakes too. Here are some of her diaper cakes I took from her website (http://www.chicmamadiapercakes.com/), but go to her site to see her large selection.

    Hospital Trip

This past weekend was not so great. We ended up at the childrens ER with Lil Man. Yes. It was one of the scariest experiences I can have as a Mother of a five month old. So, here’s what lead to our emergency visit (you may want to grab some tea/coffee and have a seat first). Last Wednesday night (early Thursday morning), Lil Man started a low grade fever. It started at 99.3 or so and went up to 100.5, so we called the pediatrician. She okayed giving him meds and said to bring him in if the fever didn’t go down by Friday or Saturday. It was a rough…

    Parenthood: Responsibility

It’s now been five months since I gave birth to my little man. There’s been so much I wanted to blog about, but simply haven’t had the time. It’s so interesting to watch him grow and change. It seems as though he’s going from 5 months to 5 years so quickly. Already wanting to be very independent, it seems he was born with the same spirit and self sufficiency as his dad and me. He’s growing quickly and learning at a faster pace than I expected. At 5 months, he’s already wearing 12 month clothing while wearing 18 month full body suits. I can only hope he’ll be tall like…

    Product Review: Playtex Baby Bottles

We’ve tried two different baby bottles so far: Dr. Brown and People’s Choice. Since we weren’t happy with these two bottles, we’re still on a quest to find the perfect baby bottle. This week we decided to try Playtex VentAire bottles. You can purchase a 9oz 3-pack for about $12.89. Like the Dr. Brown bottles, there are several pieces: Top cap Ring Nipple Bottle Bottom cap Plastic vent disc The bottle vents well. Not sure if this is because of the design – they are angled or only due to the plastic vent piece. Because the bottom cap comes off the bottle, it’s pretty easy to wash. The bottle won’t…
