Give away your heart
If there’s anything I’m very passionate about besides my family and friends, it’s definitely volunteer work and helping others. So, I wanted to share this fundraiser that my friend, Stacey, is doing.
This Valentine’s Day she’s doing something special to kick off her new year by giving back. She’s selling “Heart of Snow” postcards with a photo by her. All proceeds will be donated to Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City.
Stacey has two reasons close to her heart to do this fundraiser… the 1st is that her late father, Norman, went to Sloan when he was being treated for cancer 17 years ago and more recently, her mothers boyfriend of 8 years (whom she is close with) was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and is being treated at Sloan as well.
She will send the postcard to anywhere in the US for you. What better way than to surprise someone with your “heart” in a completely different and fabulous way – snail mail! Send one to your spouse, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your best friend, your grandmother, your mom or send some anonymously (she promises she won’t tell them who you are). The possibilities are endless. These lovely cards are $5 each and you can send as many as you like. Just provide a message and address for each card you purchase when you go through the donation process.
This fundraiser ends February 8th. Post cards go out Feb. 10th. She will write your message on the back of the card, but please no profanity. You can go to her blog to donate and buy a “Heart of Snow” card and help raise money for Cancer research. On her behalf and countless others affected by Cancer – I think you for giving away your heart.
