Holiday Gift Guide 2013: For the Kiddos
Alright. The second week of December is coming to an end already. Crazy! I’m definitely not prepared for Christmas. If you’re in my boat then it means you’re still looking for presents for your wee ones. Here are a few items my kids love that you should check out whether they’re for your kids, nieces, nephews or friends kids.
- Melissa & Doug Deluxe Vehicles in a Box Jigsaw Puzzles –
Lil man LOVES jigsaw puzzles and I love the ones from Melissa & Doug. These sets come with four different puzzles (12 pieces each image). Each puzzle is identified by a shape. The kids have fun while learning their shapes and how to match pieces together to put one puzzle together. Buy on Amazon - B. Carousel Bells
We received this bell to review for our holiday gift guide and I didn’t think something so simple would make the list. But, both my kids love music. This little toy entertains them for at least an hour. It rotates like a top and comes with the “handle” to ping away. Buy on Amazon - Tinkertoy 100 Piece Essentials Value Set
Tinkertoy – lil man loves tinker. He loves building things whether it’s legos or tinkertoy. Anything that allows him to build and create, he loves. This set comes with 100 pieces Buy on Amazon - Kiwicrate – We received our first set earlier this year. You can check out my review here. Lil man had tons of fun with his kit. What I love about gifting kiwicrate? It’s a subscription, so your gift keeps coming every month. Check it out their Give $10 Get $10 offer.
- B. TeePee Tent – SEA Color (Blue)
We received this for the holiday guide to review and seriously, my kids played with it for hours. It’s a great size for two kids. They ran in and out of it, ran around it, sat inside, took naps. They really love it, especially the light fixture that hangs inside. Buy on Amazon - iTikes Piano
My dad bought this keyboard for lil man a few months ago because he noticed my kids love music. It’s pretty neat. Without any cables, this interacts with a free app on the iPad. The app is educational and they can learn to play the piano too. Buy on Amazon. Buy on Amazon - ArtSee Studio by WowWee
I actually received this earlier this year at an expo and didn’t get around to writing up a review so I wanted to include this in the gift guide simply because my lil man does enjoy playing with it. This is another iPad accessory that interacts via a free app. Lil man loves coloring with it and playing the games included in the app. Buy on Amazon. Buy on Amazon - LeapFrog LeapReader Reading and Writing System, Green
I bought the LeapReader a couple months ago for my friends daughter and she loved it. Not long after that, I decided to buy one for us too. Lil man is 3-years-old right now and learning to read, so this is a great compliment to that process. He can listen to the reader and learn words at the same time. He’s recognizing words already and we enjoy this pastime together each night. It’s also great that you can use the reader to learn to write. We’ll eventually buy one for lil lady too. Buy on Amazon
Happy Holidays!
