    Photo Friday: Yellowstone National Park

Hubs and I love to travel. A couple years ago, we took a cross country road trip to Yellowstone National Park. It’s absolutely breathtaking there. I highly recommend a trip with the family to Yellowstone as a must. Between hubs and I, we took a zillion photos. For now, I wanted to share this photo I took for my Pui Pui Photography portfolio. Enjoy!

Family Fun at the 9th Annual North Jersey D.A.R.E. Carnival

It’s been another week of medical visits for me towing lil man along including today. I feel bad having to take him along, but obviously leaving him home alone isn’t an option. To make up for it, my hubs came home early from work yesterday, took lil man and I out to eat and headed to the Carnival. It was a great way to end the day and start off the weekend. The Carnival we went to is the 9th Annual North Jersey D.A.R.E. Carnival held at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ. Basically, bring your family for a fun time at an old-fashioned carnival and help your…

Handmade: Dr. Seuss Themed Thank You Cards

I finally finished making the thank you cards to send out to everyone who came to Lil Man’s 1st birthday. It took me forever to make them because I wasn’t motivated on the design nor keen about writing over 30 cards. But, I wanted to make and send them because I wanted everyone to know we were grateful. Here they are… they’re not pretty. In fact, I think they’re pretty ugly. Lol. But, they’re done. They’re handmade. They’re colorful. Our theme was Dr. Seuss’s Cat in the Hat, so I decided to add his head peaking into the card.   Materials: Box of 5×7 notecards from Target (it’s a box…

Thankful Thursday: My child aka “Lil Man”

The week is almost over. It’s been a tough two weeks trying to get things done and getting no where fast. Instead of dwelling on what I haven’t accomplished or focusing on things to complain about, I thought I’d dedicate today to something of which I’m thankful. This Thursday, I’m thankful for my Lil Man. If not for him, I don’t know where my sanity would have gone this last two years. He’s turning one soon, but if it were not for the pregnancy followed by his birth, I would have fallen into an endless pit of depression. So, here’s to you Lil Man. I love you.

Music for baby: Yanni’s Truth of Touch

I’m always on the look out for new music for myself and for Lil Man. So, when I had the opportunity to get a complimentary copy of Yanni’s new album Truth of Touch – I took it. Yanni? For my baby? Yes, that’s right. The first name that comes to mind when looking for music for your baby is probably Baby Einstein. In their list of music you have a variety of classics like Mozart, Beethoven and Bach. I listen to these also and have a few CDs and DVDs from Baby Einstein also. The Lil Man loves them. But, I think as parents we need to think outside the…

    Playroom designs

One of the things we’re working on at home is preparing a playroom for the Lil Man and his friends. We have a small family room we’re planning to convert in another month. Designing the playroom is the challenge. There’s so much to choose from. When planning a play room, you need to decide what is important to you as parent and what you want for your child. Ultimately, the room is for them. Once you’ve measured the room and know your spacing, here are some questions you should ask yourself: What are his/her interests? Will they use it strictly for playing with toys? Do they like arts & crafts?…

    Fork in the Road

Sitting in the dark corner of her room, Sally looked at the person staring at her. “Why are you here?” But she didn’t answer back. “You think I don’t belong here. I get it.” The eyes staring at her were melting her skin. She looked away, afraid to stare back, but couldn’t help herself. “What? What do you want?” Sally screamed. “You don’t belong here. No one wants you here.” Sally felt ashamed. She couldn’t disagree. She felt unwanted. Unworthy. “What are you waiting for? Do everyone a favor.” Shaking, Sally held the gun in her hands, staring at the gold bullets on the floor. She had found five. “No…
