Call for Artists for Sandy Treasures Art Auction

Despite the slow down of the media reports, many families are still struggling after Hurricane Sandy. Many lost their homes and have been jumping from hotel to hotel because they lost their homes. Some have been completely displaced and living with friends and family far away from where they call home. One of my fellow New Jersey Digital Moms, Cindy Dudas, told me about this great fundraising event being organized by Hurricane Sandy Support – South Jersey Facebook page. They’re having a Sandy Treasures Art Auction to benefit Waves for Water’s Hurricane Sandy Relief Initiative. This fundraiser is going to be a huge help for many families. Waves for Water provides clean water…

    Hello 2013! New Year Resolution

It’s amazing how quickly 2012 went by and now the new year is here. Like everyone else, I’m thinking about what needs to be done this year. I had an amazing 2012 which included the birth of my daughter, lots of happy memories with my family and friends and spending time with my son who developed immensely last year. Do I have a resolution this year? Yes. Only one…to have more patience. More patience for everything and everyone. By developing patience, it will help me in all areas of life from personal to business. Having more patience won’t prevent me from accomplishing my goals. I feel it will help me.…

How to Help the Families in Newtown, CT

I am still quite in shock about what happened to the innocent children, teachers and families at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. There is not much I can do for them. I cannot bring their children back. I cannot heal their hearts. What I can do is very little, but for what it’s worth, here I spread the word for those looking for a way to donate to the families in Newtown CT, a friend gave me this link. Her cousin-in-law lives in Newtown who passed this information to her and she’s passed it to me. Now I pass it to you in hopes that every little bit…

Exposing Your Kids to Different Cultures Through Music

I truly enjoy is experiencing things from other cultures. Be it food, watching traditional rituals like wedding ceremonies or emerging in culture through travel it’s just fun to see how the rest of the world does things. As my children grow up, I want to instill this joy in their lives also. One of the easiest ways to do this is through music. I’ve always enjoyed listening to different music. From music in my own Chinese culture to those of Bollywood. Listening to music can introduce a wide range of sounds to your children and open up the world to them. It can give them a window to see the rest…

Photo Friday: The Beauty of a Sunrise

I do love my Fridays. It basically means hubs will be home the entire weekend for family time because during the week it just gets crazy sometimes. Sometimes all I need is a breath of fresh air to clear my mind up and keep things calm. To do this, I love being in nature. I haven’t really had the chance to enjoy the outdoors much this year, but I do love going through photos to remember and enjoy the moment. Last week, we gave you a Yellowstone National Park sunset, today for Photo Friday, we give you a wonderful sunrise. Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend with your family.

Photo Friday: Yellowstone National Park Sunset

Friday is finally here! This Photo Friday, I give you a sunset from Yellowstone National Park. Absolutely breathtaking to watch the sunset there. Hubs and I had to find a spot to pullover and decided to sit and watch the sun go down. Definitely recommended it because too often in life, we run around busy with minding things and forget to just sit and enjoy nature… it’s beauty… it’s wonder… just relax and enjoy the moment. Happy Friday!

Photo Friday: Finding the Color in Nature

Sometimes, things can feel high and others low. Beautiful days can seem infinitely gloomy. Life can seem glum and pointless. I know, I’ve been there many times.  But, when things are low, one needs to remember to seek the things that will lift you back up. It’s often very hard to see anything but clouds and gray when you’re down, but one must try. Only after trying your best to see the light will you see the beauty of life. So, this Photo Friday, I leave you with this image and hope that whenever you feel down or lost – you’ll look and search through the darkness and find the one…

    Photo Friday: Bumble Bee Flower

It’s Friday! Here’s the photo I have today for Photo Friday. A bee in it’s natural habitat looking for pollen in a beautiful flower. Hubs and I stumbled over this flower patch during a nature walk in the Harriman State Park in Fort Lee, NJ. It was a small patch along the side of the trail with beautiful flowers, lovely butterflies and bees all floating around and seemingly unaware humans were standing by watching and photo taking. After several shots, we landed this one with the bee still on the flower. Isn’t nature simply beautiful? Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend.

    Photo Friday: Flower in Nature

I really love nature. In all it’s forms. It’s the reason why I enjoy photographing nature…just to capture the beauty that surrounds us every day on earth. Hubs and I did a nature walk at a local county park and we saw this flower. The colors were amazing so we had to capture it. Enjoy. Happy Friday!

Photo Friday: Squirrel in the Park

I took lil man to the park one day and this little squirrel caught my eye. He was roaming around the playground, but caught my attention because he wasn’t looking for food. It seemed as if he was just enjoying the scenery. So I was observing him and next thing I know he climbed onto this bench and just plopped himself down. I guess he decided it was time for some sunbathing since the weather was so gorgeous that day. Happy Friday!
