Roseola
A few weeks ago, lil man developed a high fever. It lasted about three days. I would have been quite concerned had it not been for a brief conversation with a friend I had during our annual BBQ only five days prior. My friend Jo told me her daughter developed a fever for several days which was then followed by a rash. After taking her daughter to our shared pediatrician they came to the conclusion she might have roseola. Jo’s daughter doesn’t attend daycare. In fact, other than her own sibling, the only people she really sees daily are her parents and grandparents. My son doesn’t attend daycare either. He’s…

Pregnancy update Week 36
Haven’t written much about the pregnancy since all the crazy testing so I thought I’d do an update here. This is really more for the sake of my memory and the ability to share with my kiddos in the future though. I’m finally in my last month of term. With four more weeks to go, things are getting challenging. My hips are starting to bother me when I walk. I can’t go more than 15 minutes without needing to go to the bathroom. I’m not sleeping well. In fact, I’m not really sleeping. If I’m lucky I get about two hours a night and two hours in the afternoon. Since…

Photo Friday: The Beauty of a Sunrise
I do love my Fridays. It basically means hubs will be home the entire weekend for family time because during the week it just gets crazy sometimes. Sometimes all I need is a breath of fresh air to clear my mind up and keep things calm. To do this, I love being in nature. I haven’t really had the chance to enjoy the outdoors much this year, but I do love going through photos to remember and enjoy the moment. Last week, we gave you a Yellowstone National Park sunset, today for Photo Friday, we give you a wonderful sunrise. Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend with your family.

Adventures of Finding a Double Stroller
Lil lady is almost here. She’s due to arrive in six weeks. With the arrival of a second child and having a 2-year-old, hubs and I decided we needed a double stroller. I forewarn you…this is going to be a long one. There are a lot of strollers out there. Seriously. prices range of course as well and it depends on what features you want and your budget before you can really narrow it all down. One feature we wanted was a tandem stroller instead of a side-by-side. While most side-by-sides do fit into doorways these days many don’t fit in between aisles in stores. Especially not the children’s stores…

Sponsored: New York Aquarium Opens New Exhibit A-MAZE-ING Water
Did you know the New York Aquarium has a new exhibit called A-MAZE-ING Water? As an Ambassador for the Wildlife Conservation Society, I was given information about this a few weeks ago. I even attended the kick-off event where they had displays about the NY water, a maze for the kids and other activities. A-MAZE-ING Water exhibit is open to the public through September 9, 2012 and features elements of the New York Seascape, the aquarium’s conservation program that works to preserve local NY waters. As part of the program, they have Water’s Extreme Journey where visitors will travel through a 1,500-square-foot maze, learning about the environmental threats that plague our waterways along…

Photo Friday: Yellowstone National Park Sunset
Friday is finally here! This Photo Friday, I give you a sunset from Yellowstone National Park. Absolutely breathtaking to watch the sunset there. Hubs and I had to find a spot to pullover and decided to sit and watch the sun go down. Definitely recommended it because too often in life, we run around busy with minding things and forget to just sit and enjoy nature… it’s beauty… it’s wonder… just relax and enjoy the moment. Happy Friday!

Photo Friday: Finding the Color in Nature
Sometimes, things can feel high and others low. Beautiful days can seem infinitely gloomy. Life can seem glum and pointless. I know, I’ve been there many times. But, when things are low, one needs to remember to seek the things that will lift you back up. It’s often very hard to see anything but clouds and gray when you’re down, but one must try. Only after trying your best to see the light will you see the beauty of life. So, this Photo Friday, I leave you with this image and hope that whenever you feel down or lost – you’ll look and search through the darkness and find the one…

Photo Friday: Bumble Bee Flower
It’s Friday! Here’s the photo I have today for Photo Friday. A bee in it’s natural habitat looking for pollen in a beautiful flower. Hubs and I stumbled over this flower patch during a nature walk in the Harriman State Park in Fort Lee, NJ. It was a small patch along the side of the trail with beautiful flowers, lovely butterflies and bees all floating around and seemingly unaware humans were standing by watching and photo taking. After several shots, we landed this one with the bee still on the flower. Isn’t nature simply beautiful? Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend.
