5 Things David Choi Suggests to Increase Your Safety While Driving

Last month, I had the chance to interview Singer Songwriter David Choi. David wrote the song Chill Tonight for the #ItCanWait Don’t Text and Drive Campaign I participated in over the Summer, which you can read about here. The interview went well. We spoke about why he chose to participate in the campaign (to make a difference) to his fear of being a hypocrite (he used to text and drive a lot, but has definitely done much less since the campaign began). Overall, he was easy to chat with, is a very down-to-earth guy and an open and honest person who enjoys what he does. We did the interview over…

A Cultural Lesson for Real Simple Magazine and Their Illustrator

I love my monthly magazines, especially receiving Real Simple. I know it’s not eco-friendly, but as a book lover there’s just something exciting about flipping thru the pages of a physical magazine and hardcover book. After receiving my copy of Real Simple a couple weeks ago, I finally had a chance to open it today. Under $100 gift guide for women, men, teens/tweens, kids … the wild things sweatshirt so cute! Stocking stuffer ideas. Love the holiday edition. Then, I stopped at the fashion guide. Speechless. What in this illustration made me stop so suddenly? Simple. The main image in the middle. What is that? A women holding a martini…

Pampers: Gift of Sleep Give Back

As a member of the Double Duty Divas network, I applied for and was chosen a couple weeks ago to participate in the Pampers Gift of Sleep Give Back program. As part of the program, I received my package included Pampers product as well as $100 gift card to give me the opportunity to give the “Gift of Sleep” to a family or baby in my community. Plus, we were also given the opportunity to host a giveaway with the Give Back post, which includes a Sleep Sheep Sound Machine, cozy blankets for Mom/Baby and a $50 gift card. But, to make it official, I need to include this legalese…

    Life Throws Curve Balls

A few days ago, I wrote this on my Facebook status: Hey Life… You’ve thrown so much pain, heartache, challenges and curveballs my way for as long as I can remember and each time I have survived and then some. So today – I say “BRING IT ON!” You ain’t got nothin on me. Why? Because life has really thrown a serious curve ball into my field this past month. Go grab some coffee, tea or hot cocoa and a comfy seat because this is going to be a long story. Last month, a serious issue happened with an extremely good friend of mine – you could call him my…

Have Fun with H&M’s “All for Children” Collection this Halloween and do Social Good

This past Friday, I had the opportunity to visit  the H&M showroom in NYC to check out their “All for Children” Halloween line. It is so darn cute and if you’re still looking for a costume for your little one, it’s totally worth checking out. I didn’t even know they had a Halloween line until I saw this fabulous collection. When I got to the showroom, I was surprised me by asking me which one these adorable outfits I’d like for my lil man. It really was completely unexpected and definitely not the reason why I wrote this post because you know I only write about things with my own…

    Encourage Creativity with Kiwi Crate

A few weeks ago, I received a complimentary sample box of the Kiwi Crate. Unfortunately, due to some emergency issues I wasn’t able to check it out until this past week. I couldn’t hold off any longer because lil man has been staring at this box the entire time and with great patience didn’t ask about opening it until this weekend. He was so excited opening and unwrapping the contents. Which by the way, is packaged quite nicely. The instruction manuals are so cute. I especially like the indications on bottom of the front cover: a messy meter, grownup involvement meter and the things the Kiwi Crate will be providing,…

Petite PARADE Stride Rite Children’s Group Showcase

If you don’t already know, I’m a huge fan of Stride Rite and over the weekend I attended their fashion show, part of the Petite PARADE Kids Fashion Week. They had the most adorable emcees kick off the show. They’re twin models, TV personalities, actors and reporters – Tristin and Tyler. Absolutely meant to be in the public eye. Now, I know we’re just kicking off Autumn in the NYC area (and it’s my favorite season), but their coming line has me wishing for Spring again. I loved the colors of all the footwear on the runway yesterday. Coloful, fun and sporty. All the things that kids should be. I’m not…
