Baby arrives
The Lil Man arrived a week late, but he’s more than we can ask for. I see his father staring at him in awe. I see him with my own eyes thinking how amazing it is that this little thing was in my belly for 41 weeks and now he’s arrived. Our bundle of joy.. the baby…the little man. It’s been three weeks since his birth and being at home the last few weeks with him has certainly been tiring while recovering, but also such a blessing that I’m home and don’t have to worry about going back to work.
I wake up seeing him. His eyes looking back at me. I’ve been signing the alphabet and singing it to him to help with visual exercise and he actually started reaching his hand out to try and grab my fingers. Those little itty bitty fingers of his. Smaller than an apple. I think back and remember the many years ago when my little cousins were little babies too and how in awe I was then. How many years have passed that I’ve seen them grow into their own.
Now, I have a lil man of my own to raise and help him through life as I did with my cousins. Preparing myself to watch him grow…
crawl…
walk…
run…
play…
And one day, send him off to college as I did with my cousins. Some day that will come. Until then… I will enjoy every moment making beautiful memories with him.
